Today in Springfield: Simon Kenton and Kenwood Elementary schools were evacuated due to bomb threats. Tecumseh Local School District in western Clark County received a threat via social media. City officials announced the cancellation of the annual CultureFest event as a precaution. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said the city had been hit by “at least 33” bomb threats.
Today in Springfield: Clark State College closed all of its campuses and moved to remote classes through Friday after two emailed bomb and shooting threats. Wittenberg University canceled all activities, events, and athletics contests and moved to remote classes on Monday after a shooting threat.
Today in Springfield: The Springfield Regional Medical Center, a hospital, was locked down at 6 a.m. by a bomb threat. Kettering Health Springfield hospital was also locked down by a separate threat shortly thereafter.
