Back when this site was the COVID-19 Diary I decided I wanted to post about the mass shootings that occur almost daily in this country. When I changed the site to I Thought It Was Funny I kept that up, but I realized that posting that information to a site explicitly branded as funny could give the wrong impression. To be clear: I don’t think mass shootings are funny. I think they’re tragic, and I think we should be doing more to address them. Also, I don’t post them to advocate for any position on solutions to the problem. I have my opinions on that, as most of us do, but one of the core tenets of this site is to not take any position on issues we face as a society. My intent is to raise awareness. That’s all.
