Lots of meetings today. Even more tomorrow. Fortunately I only have to facilitate a couple of them. Mute buttons and camera covers are a wonderful thing. Just ask Jeffrey Toobin.
People are a country’s foundation; Just like a tree depends on the ground. If the soil is deep, It supports the spreading branches. If the soil is poor, The tree will decline Do not expose its roots, Or the branches will wither And the fruit will fall. To get fish by destroying a dam Benefits you just one time
Last night I wanted ice cream so I went to the local frozen custard shop and got a banana split, a strawberry milkshake, and a pint of blueberry cheesecake to put in the freezer.
More budget cuts, reorgs, and layoffs at work. I’m still safe, and should be for the rest of the fiscal year (end of June) unless we have any more budget cuts. Fingers crossed that won’t happen.
I’ve noticed a decrease in funniness on the internet over the past week or so. People are focused – obsessed, really – on the events leading up to election day. I understand that, and I’ll admit to the same behavior at times, but I still need some good laughs to get through the day. The search will continue.
I feel draggy this evening. Sometimes I feel that way the day after running a D&D game. Four hours of guiding players through a story, including playing all of the non-player characters (NPCs) that they interact with is fun but can also be draining. Also, I got my flu shot this afternoon, so that could be part of it. Regardless, I’m giving myself permission to do nothing for the rest of the evening, go to bed early, and take the day off tomorrow if I wake up and still don’t feel great.
