We played D&D today. When I was preparing for the session I made some educated guesses about what the players would do and planned accordingly. Of course, when we were playing the players were about to go off the map I had created with about 30 minutes to go. Fortunately, I know how to handle that. It’s called a (not so) random encounter. I threw some monsters at them, we had some fun combat, and called it a game.

We still need to put up our Christmas tree. When I lived in Richmond, VA I knew a family that didn’t put their tree up until Christmas Eve. Their rationale was that until the 24th it wasn’t Christmas; it was Advent. They were solid Episcopalians.
