Earlier today a friend passed away from COVID-19. Courtney was fully vaccinated but still contracted it and had been dealing with long COVID for some time. She had a chronic lung condition that contributed to her struggle. She had recently finished a graduate degree and leaves behind her husband and other family members.
I’ve known other people that have died from this disease, but this is the first person that I consider to be my friend. If this has happened to you then you know how I feel. If it hasn’t then I hope it doesn’t.

“Hi, this is Phil McCracken, Action News. I’m here with Mr. Wayne Kerr at the site of his home, which was destroyed in the recent flood/hurricane/tornado/coal slurry spill/meth lab explosion. Mr. Kerr, what are your emotions right now?”
“Ah don’t know whut t’say. Evry’thin mah famly ‘n Ah had was in there. We done lost it all.”
“Mr. Kerr, what will you do now?”
“Ah reckon we’ll rebuild. Ah lived here all mah life. Ah don’ know whur else Ah’d go.”
“Thank you, Mr. Kerr. We’ll see you next time?”
