Had my follow up doctor’s appointment today. Two more weeks in the leg brace. Hooray.
I should be realistic. Six weeks to repair a bone fracture is reasonable, especially at my age. Reasonable doesn’t necessarily mean fun, though.

My knee is no longer swollen. The pain when I move it is less severe. I’m hoping on Friday the doctor tells me I can stop wearing the brace and use it normally. We’ll see.

The insurance company for the other party in the accident has 1) acknowledged that it’s liable for my car’s damage and 2) declared my car a total loss, which isn’t surprising given that it’s fourteen years old and has over 300,000 miles. I was surprised at the amount it offered me; it was about three times what I expected.
