Home again. I listened to Star Wars: Bloodline on the way home and finished it later in the day. It was entertaining. No Crime and Punishment, but entertaining nonetheless.

As an aside, I’m not sure Crime and Punishment can accurately be described as entertaining.

My friend Jim invited me to join his Traveller campaign. The character creation process starts with rolling 2d6 to determine six basic attributes: Strength, Dexterity, Endurance, Intelligence, Education, and Social Standing. I rolled:

STR: 6
DEX: 7
END: 6
INT: 4
EDU: 4
SOC: 12

By the tine I finished creating the character the basic attributes were:

STR: 4
DEX: 5
END: 5
INT: 4
EDU: 4
SOC: 13

For reference, an average score is seven and scores can go higher than twelve by modifying the initial dice rolls. SOC: 13 = Marquis (yes, the game has nobility). The character can also pilot a starship, and is handy with a dagger and a shotgun. Sounds like a typical idiot noble to me. Should be fun to play.

I drove to my nice little cabin rental in NC today. The past few times I’ve driven to and from NC the traffic on the opposite side of I-85 has been a mess. I feel like I’m overdue to be stuck in a horrendous traffic jam.
