I work with a lot of people based in India. Since they’re 10.5 hours ahead of me it’s hard to find times to meet but we usually try our best. Then yesterday there was the person that just had to meet with me as soon as possible about a spreadsheet I sent them. I met with them at 1 AM my time because that was the only available time on their calendar and answered every question they had by showing them where they already had the information. I think they were embarrassed. They should have been.

Vacation day 2. Drove to Gretchen and Scott’s and went to the They Might Be Giants concert in Baltimore, a show that was originally scheduled for at least a year and a half ago but was rescheduled at least twice due to COVID and one of the band members getting injured in a serious car accident. Good things come to those who wait. Also in attendance: Gretchen, Scott, Matt, Logan, Maryann, and Rae.

I’ve been having some tooth discomfort since I got a filling replaced a few weeks ago. I went back to the dentist today to have it checked. Turns out I need a root canal, so I have that to look forward to after the holidays.

Twenty years ago today Warren Zevon gave his final performance. The Ringer has a nice article about it. The link to the performance is below. Zevon’s music has a significant place in my life’s soundtrack, particularly from 1978 – 2003. He’s in my pantheon of People to Admire but Not to Emulate, along with his friend Hunter S. Thompson, among others. I miss him. Requiescat in pace.
