Trash day is tomorrow. I decided to clean out the refrigerator, which was long overdue. I removed so much leftover food that I had to use a contractor trash bag so it wouldn’t burst.
Still no mail. Fortunately the paperwork I got from the dealer when I bought my car showed who the lien holder is. I called them and got the information I needed to pay my car loan.
Later in the day I received an email from USPS asking me to take a satisfaction survey on how they handled the incident I opened. You bet I’ll take your survey.
I have to say I found Ayn Rand’s philosophy laughable. It was a “white supremacist dreams of the master race,” burnt in an early-20th century form. Her ideas didn’t really appeal to me, but they seemed to be the kind of ideas that people would espouse, people who might secretly believe themselves to be part of the elite, and not part of the excluded majority.
Anyway, once I realized this I decided to lean into it. Recently the players found a ancient scepter that resembles Loki’s scepter from The Avengers. Does it contain my world’s equivalent to the Mind Stone like Loki’s did? I suppose they’ll find out.
My mail is screwed up. When I was staying in NC I submitted a temporary change of address so I could get mail there. When I got home I submitted another one effective 8 July. I haven’t received any mail since then. I went to my post office yesterday to try to get it straightened out. They said someone would call me, but no one did. I put in a service request on the USPS web site today. I’m supposed to hear back in 1-3 business days. Meantime I’ve had some package deliveries get returned to sender. I’m also hoping that the loan papers for the car don’t get lost.
Whenever someone complains about government bureaucracy and incompetence I’m quick to point out that plenty of private sector organizations are just as bad; but that doesn’t mean that government bureaucracy and incompetence doesn’t exist.
