So. Here we are. The weather here is cool and rainy, with temperatures expected to drop, leading to possible snow flurries but more likely freezing rain and patches of ice on the road. It’s nice to have a different reason to stay home.
I like Christmas Eve. As an adult in some ways I enjoy it more than Christmas Day. I have fond memories of spending evenings with family, listening to stories from grandparents and other relatives.
This year it’s Rae and me. I’m going to make pea soup in a little while. Rae’s going to make mashed potatoes. We may pull some other goodies out. We may watch a movie. There’s a fire in the fireplace. Life is good.
Welcome Christmas, bring your cheer.
from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, by Dr. Seuss
Cheer to all Whos far and near.
Christmas Day is in our grasp,
so long as we have hands to clasp.
Christmas Day will always be
just as long as we have we.
Stay healthy and safe.
